About Cayman Writers' Circle

The Cayman Writer's Circle is a group of local writers who meet together weekly. The focus is to provide support and encouragement for each other in writing endeavours. We try to create an environment in which poetry, drama, short stories, etc can be shared and commented upon in a constructive manner. We take turns hosting group meetings and providing refreshments for the evening. Ice-breaker activities and writing exercises form an important part of the writing portion of the meeting. At times, there is an educational component to group meetings as we delve into specific writers or genres. The social aspect of writers meeting together provides stimulus for creativity throughout the evening as well as in completing short 'homework' pieces which are shared at the start of the weekly meetings.
